The Carter Lake Filter Plant is a Drinking Water Treatment Facility located in Berthoud, Colorado. Beginning in 1961, the Plant has provided drinking water to the Little Thompson and Central Weld County Water Districts.
The Filter Plant is operated and maintained by State of Colorado Certified Water Professionals. The Plant Operators are trained both on-the-job and through training programs offered through the Operators Certification Program Office.
In conjunction with operating the treatment facilities, the Plant Operators strive to meet and exceed Drinking Water Standards which are set by the EPA and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
